Areté’s Sandbox Residency Grant supports innovative, collaborative initiatives that combine research, artistic processes, and community engagement beyond the academic setting. It provides the resources for experimentation, ideation, and incubation to explore new problem spaces and develop creative solutions to pressing society’s wicked problems. (More)
The Sandbox Student Challenge provides undergraduate students with funding to explore new problem spaces and develop innovative, interdisciplinary solutions. It encourages projects that integrate the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, management, and education with broader real-world contexts. (More)
A play on the word "collaboration", the Sandbox Co-Lab offers a co-working space and support for interdisciplinary groups with long-term, externally funded projects addressing urgent social and environmental issues. (More)
On August 16, 16 Sandbox Residents and Student Challengers gathered with four startup founders from the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) for an informal mixer at Areté’s Eduardo J Aboitiz Sandbox Zone. As part of the 2025 Annual Conference of the ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture, Project Kalikhasaan will present KalikhASEAN: Art and Creative Writing for Urban Ecological Literacy, a generative workshop designed to help ASEAN participants transform their experiences of ecological immersion into compelling visual and literary works.
