Creativity and innovation need spaces for play and iteration.
The Eugenio Lopez Jr. Makerspace is Areté’s digital laboratory dedicated to hands-on activities for creative engagement. This open access facility welcomes everyone who wants to pursue, develop, and execute an idea.
Create high quality and precise wooden parts with this accurate rotating cutting tool controlled by a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) system. This can also be used for low volume productions.
Capture precise digital models of physical objects by scanning their shape and surface details. Our 3D scanner uses laser technology to collect data points from a small object to create accurate 3D representations for design, analysis, or replication.
Cut panels and engrave text or images on various materials such as wood, acrylic, and cardboard. Laser cutting or engraving is the process of using a laser to vaporize material.
Create physical objects from digital designs by building them layer by layer. Our 3D printer uses PLA material to transform computer models into tangible items for prototyping, manufacturing, or creative projects.
Get high quality prints for large graphics and designs for signages, posters, and wall or floor graphics. Available print materials are glossy paper, vinyl, and stickers.
Achieve detailed and durable plastic parts, packaging, or molds with this vacuum forming machine. Using heat and vacuum pressure, our Vaquform shapes plastic sheets into precise molds, ideal for prototypes and low-volume production runs.
Priority access to the Makerspace equipment is granted to Ateneo students, Sandbox Residents, including Co-Labs and Student Challengers, and the university community, including its affiliates. Users will operate the equipment independently, with guidance and support offered by the Makerspace Operator to ensure proper and safe use.
Our facilities are also available to external organizations for purposes that are compatible with or enhance the mission and vision of Areté and are in the interest of the community.
An initiative that promotes Areté’s focus themes, associated programs, and creative projects.
It features activities designed to provide a mid-week respite from routine, offering a way to unwind from the weekday grind.
