Ang Gubat Ang Guro: Sandbox Series - 1st Quarter 2023 Company Reports

The first quarter of 2023 has been a packed calendar of environmental initiatives for the team of Ang Gubat Ang Guro in their mission to promote a deeper practice of forest bathing to the Ateneo Community and to the Filipino public.

Key Highlights:

  • Conducted an extensive ocular inspection of Ateneo de Manila University’s forested areas to identify potential locations suitable to conduct forest bathing sessions
  • Hosted the lecture “Rizal as a Naturalist: Dapitan as Model and Inspiration for Environmental Citizenship” to encourage more LS courses to implement forest bathing and connecting with nature as part of their curriculum
  • Developed a module entitled “Paghiga at Pahinga”, a method of forest bathing that requires participants to lie down, inspired by indigenous epic chanting postures

Goal Setting:

Ang Gubat Ang Guro will focus further efforts into test runs of Filipino forest bathing modules and studying potential partnerships with other organizations who can contribute to their purpose of nurturing young, like-minded ecological citizens.
