Andrew Ty, Serena Vaswani, AJ Elicaño

Andrew Ty teaches film and media studies courses at the Ateneo de Manila University Department of Communication and has done so since 2000. He has taught classes on horror cinema, video games, the information society, and self-referential films. He has been on study leave from his teaching duties since 2019 because he is currently an offshore PhD candidate enrolled at La Trobe University. His PhD thesis is on audiovisual musicality and intermedial performance in the work of South Korean pop group BTS.

Serena M. Vaswani teaches communication theory, audience studies, and visual thinking courses in the Department of Communication at the Ateneo de Manila university. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters degree in Applied Mathematics Major in Mathematical Finance and her Master of Arts degree in Communication from the Ateneo de Manila University. Her research interests include fan studies, media studies, and cultural studies.

AJ Elicaño is a lecturer in the Ateneo de Manila University. He teaches classes on comics and cultural studies, specializing in science fiction and game studies. He is currently finishing his MA in Creative Writing in UP Diliman, and hopes it doesn't finish him first. In his spare time, AJ makes playlists, plays far too much Dungeons & Dragons, and yells about the X-Men to innocent passersby on Twitter.
