The Marissa Turbine with Patrick de Guzman
Puzzled by policies that encourage the use of fossil fuels in energy production, Patrick de Guzman harnessed his political economics background to develop the Marissa Turbine
Patrick De Guzman, 23, is the founder of Saltric and truly an innovative young entrepreneur. Currently, he is a first-year law student, leveraging his background in political economy, having graduated with a BA in Political Economy. Patrick is the inventor of the Marissa Turbine, a vertical-axis tidal turbine made out of affordable and sustainable components, deployed in oceans to harvest energy. He has been featured in GMA News and is the recent winner of the EO Philippines - Global Student Entrepreneur Awards 2024 (GSEA), highlighting one of his exceptional achievements.
